The FIU commit is one of the more prolific shooters in the state for his class, where he shot nearly 40% from behind the arc as a junior last season. Roche has a great feel for the game, bringing good size from the secondary guard position as well as utilizing his athleticism to finish over bigger defenders at the rim. He consistently finds ways to make an impact whether he has the basketball in his hands or if he is playing off-ball.

Keathley is a dangerous perimeter shooter who can make you pay off the bounce or catch when given the right amount of space. He plays with a high IQ and can get to his spots as the primary ballhandler or the ability to play off the ball. He can also make plays happen where he can finish at the rim, using his strength to his advantage, finishing over multiple defenders. Expect a big senior season for the Pacific commit, as he will be playing a national schedule after playing last season at Martin County in Kentucky.

Delancy has become more comfortable whether it is initiating the offense as a primary ballhandler or playing off ball. He shows incredible poise and patience in the half-court, where he can read defenses before making his move to score or get his teammates involved. He also has a strong sense for when to push the ball in transition, where he can turn his defense into offense by generating steals and getting deflections in the passing lanes. The Houston commit is one of the top two-way guards not just in the state, but arguably in the country. Overall, he brings a high motor and competitive edge that should feed off his teammates once again this season and will translate when he steps onto campus in a Kelvin Sampson system.

6-3 CG/SG Miguel Orbe- Mater Lakes Academy (FL)- 2027 (Tennessee Tech commit)

Orbe often plays both guard positions, depending on the matchup. With the ball in his hands, he doesn’t get rattled by opposing guards when blitzed in the half-court. He is patient when it comes to letting plays develop before making a decision on when to shoot versus getting his teammates involved. On the defensive end, he plays with a little physicality, where he can bump opposing guards off the line or use his length, which often forces the opposition into taking a tough shot. He is also unafraid when it comes to guarding bigger players, as he uses his strength to stay in front and uses his athleticism to snatch down timely rebounds, limiting the opposition from getting second-chance scoring opportunities.

He is unafraid when it comes to using his size to guard multiple positions on the defensive end, impacting the game as a rebounder and a pest when pursuing the passing lanes. 6-5 SG Johnny Lackaff- Sarasota HS (FL)- 2027- University of Illinois-Chicago commit

Lackaff has proven himself to be a winner and is statistically one of the top perimeter shooters in the state regardless of class. He has elite court vision for his age, and his gifted size allows him to see over multiple defenses. On the offensive end, he dictates possessions, where he uses his smooth handle and having a strong understanding of pick-and-pop situations. On the defensive end, he stays engaged and understands the matchups where he can use his length to be a disruptor in the passing lanes, as well as snatching down timely rebounds, which allow him to push tempo in transition. Overall, Lackaff doesn’t need to score in bunches to make an impact, but he is certainly capable of being the primary scorer and taking over games when needed.

JOHNNY LACKAFF HIGHLIGHTS AT THE GBCA LIVE PERIOD:

6-2 CG/SG Terrance Walker- Edgewater HS (FL)- 2027

Walker is coming off an impressive summer playing with 1 Family on the PRO16 League circuit. He uses his good size and athleticism where he can attack downhill and finish around the basket while being unafraid to absorb contact. He has also improved his shot from the perimeter, where he can shoot effectively both off the catch and off the bounce. On the defensive end, he is active and explosive when it comes to using his speed to stay in front of opposing guards, as well as generate steals when it comes to jumping the passing lanes. Overall, he plays with great energy that feeds off his teammates, and he is expected to have a strong senior season.

6-4 SG Chase Weismiller- Walter L. Sickles HS (FL)- 2028

Weismiller has a lightning-quick release where he doesn’t need a lot of time and space to get off a solid shot. He forces the defense to stay engaged and attached, and his limitless shooting range goes well beyond the three-point line. He also uses his speed and strength to finish around the rim over multiple defenders. On the defensive end, he can guard on the ball as well as apply pressure in the passing lanes. Look for Weismiller to have a healthy and strong season after missing nearly a year recovering from a serious knee injury that derailed his junior season.

6-4 CG/SG Jaden Clardy, DME Academy (FL)- 2028

Clardy is often at times viewed as a point guard, but with his gifted size, he can play both guard positions at a high level. On the offensive end, he can score from all three levels and snatch down timely rebounds on both ends of the floor. He also plays with control and has a great understanding of spacing on the offensive end, where he rarely forces difficult shots within the half-court. On the defensive end, his size and length allow him to guard multiple positions, and he has become more dependable when applying ball pressure and staying disciplined. With more touch and confidence in his all-around game, don’t be surprised if Clardy makes a big jump this upcoming season.

6-5 SQ Quentin Wilson- Wellington Sports Academy (FL)- 2028

Wilson has a strong and athletic frame and is unafraid when it comes to guarding bigger wings on the defensive end, as well as finishing through contact at the rim on the offensive end. He also adds a potent scoring ability where he can connect on all three scoring levels, as well as be a playmaker where he often gets his teammates involved. He has been battle-tested since he was a starting point guard as a freshman on a Victory Christian Academy squad that made it to their first Final Four appearance in program history. He has received several Power 4 offers from notable schools such as Arizona, California, Florida State, Michigan, among several others. Overall, Wilson is a Top-30 ranked prospect in his class and could continue to climb in the rankings over the course of the next two years.

6-3 CG/SG Josiah Brooks- Sports Leadership & Management (Miami) (FL)- 2029

Brooks does a great job when it comes to generating the offense from all levels, whether it’s stretching the defense with the ability to score from well beyond the three-point line or stopping on a dime with his dangerous pull-up jump shot. He also uses his craftiness and speed to finish around the rim and has an advanced IQ for his age. Overall, he plays with a ton of confidence and is in control, and he can create for his teammates as a primary ball handler. He is already hearing from several Power 4 schools after receiving his first offer as an eighth grader.

6-3 CG/SG Harlem McNeal, Chaminade-Madonna (FL)- 2029

McNeal comes to South Florida after playing his freshman season at Don Bosco Prep in New Jersey. He has a tight handle, where he uses his speed and craftiness to blow by the defense, finishing around the rim in a variety of ways. He can also score in the mid-range as well as from the perimeter, where he doesn’t need a ton of time to get a clean look at the rim. He stays engaged on the defensive end as well, where his combination skill set of speed and athleticism allows him to generate steals, which often at times allow him to push the pace in transition. Overall, McNeal is a talented guard who coaches are going to want to know about over the course of the next few years.

6-6 SG Delan Montgomery, Mater Lakes Academy HS (FL)- 2029

Montgomery spent his freshman season playing at Miami Country Day, which made a run at the Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) Class 2A playoffs, making it to the championship game. He shows great positional size, and he can create on the offensive end both off the catch and off the dribble. He is a capable shot maker who can score effectively on all three scoring levels when timing allows him to get off a clean look. On the defensive end, his length allows him to be effective where he can guard on the ball as well as off the ball. Overall, he is comfortable playing either the point guard or shooting guard position, as he is expected to fill in some big shoes for Tai Bell, who transferred to Columbus earlier in the summer.

6-5 SG Lucai Anderson, IMG Academy (FL)- 2027

Anderson lets his size dictate his play style, where he can either shoot over smaller guards or have a burst of speed that allows him to get to the rim and finish over bigger defenders. On the defensive end, Anderson is versatile, as he shows elite athleticism to guard out on the perimeter, as well as showcasing his length, where he can defend in the paint. He also moves exceptionally well without the basketball in his hands, where he can relocate to his spots. Overall, his catch-and-shoot mechanics from the perimeter need a little more improvement as he gears up for his senior season. His combination skill set of ball-handling and being a primary scorer should set up Anderson to succeed with the talent around him.

6-4 SG Malik Olajuwon, IMG Academy (FL)- 2027- SMU commit

Olajuwon operates primarily as a shooting guard, possessing an intriguing blend of size, feel, and burgeoning athleticism for his class. He’s not a player who forces the issue; rather, he allows the game to come to him, making deliberate decisions on the offensive end. In transition, he shows good pace and the ability to push the ball, looking for quick-hitting opportunities or settling into a half-court set while playing under control. He has a good feel for spacing and moving without the ball, finding soft spots in the defense for catch-and-shoot opportunities. His length at 6-foot-4 is a significant attribute for a shooting guard, allowing him to shoot over defenders and project as a disruptive presence on the perimeter on the defensive end.
