By: Southeast Hoops Report

6-6 SG Jarvis Hayes Jr., Woodward Academy (GA)- 2027- Georgia commit
Hayes Jr. continues to have an impressive skill set, whether it’s his size, length, or athleticism. He is a vital shot maker who can score on all three levels on the offensive end, whether it’s off the catch or off the bounce. Hayes also serves as a high-IQ guard who gets his teammates involved early and often in the action. On the defensive end, he brings physicality and versatility, as he can guard multiple positions, displaying his activity as he pursues the passing lanes and snatches down timely rebounds at the rim. Overall, I expect a big senior season for the University of Georgia commit.
WAY TOO EARLY 10 PLAYERS TO WATCH IN GEORGIA (PART 2)

6-4 SG Braylon Luster, Cherokee HS (GA)- 2027- Mercer commit
Luster is a skilled guard who uses his strength to finish at the front of the rim as well as pick-and-pop shooting from the perimeter on the offensive end. He plays with a high IQ and impressive foot speed to impact the offensive flow with and without the basketball in his hands, due to his constant movement. He also has an impressive skill set on the defensive end, where he is unafraid to challenge shots in the interior and stays disciplined when closing out on opposing shooters without fouling. Overall, he is a highly-skilled guard and has made a name for himself as one of the top two-way players in his class.
WAY TOO EARLY 10 PLAYERS TO WATCH IN GEORGIA (PART 1)

6-4 SG Bradyn Elder, Woodward Academy (GA)- 2027- Kennesaw State commit
Elder is a lead guard who brings a combination of size, length, and athleticism. On the offensive end, he adds shot-making to his arsenal, and he can score on and off the ball. He shows true basketball in his bloodlines, as his father (BJ) played collegiate basketball at Georgia Tech, demonstrating his high IQ and willingness to be a proven winner. With his overall feel and versatility on the defensive end, Elder has the trajectory to be one of the top prospects in the class.

6-3 SG Winston Steinberger, King’s Ridge HS (GA)- 2027
Steinberger is coming off a junior season where he averaged a team-high 16.4 points per game and earned an All-Region selection. He is a sharp-shooting guard who can be effective both off the catch and off the bounce on the offensive end. On the defensive end, he attacks closeouts with straight-line drives, remaining disciplined and unafraid when it comes to challenging shots at the rim without fouling. Overall, he shows a great feel and understanding of the game, and he can be a reliable offensive option.

6-4 SG Justin Wise, North Oconee HS (GA)- 2027- Georgia commit
Standing at 6-foot-4, Wise has always had good size for a combo guard, but he has transitioned his body since the start of his junior season. He has gained nearly 15 pounds of muscle over the summer, and the on-court results are unmatched. During his junior season, Wise struggled to finish through contact against bigger guards and wings; he is now consistently absorbing contact and finishing at the rim on the offensive end, leading to a higher field goal percentage inside the three-point line and more trips to the free-throw line to show for it. His assist-to-turnover ratio has gradually improved, as he has taken the reins more as a combo guard during the summer when he played for Jet Academy on the Nike EYBL circuit.
JUSTIN WISE COMMITS TO GEORGIA:

6-6 SG Brandon Pemberton, Parkview HS (GA)- 2027- Kennesaw State commit
Pemberton continues to show his ability to create offense off the dribble and score at all three levels on the offensive end. He showcases good size, length, athleticism, and versatility, and he can make an impact on both ends of the floor. Overall, his combination of size, scoring ability, and versatility makes him a difficult matchup on the perimeter.

6-3 SG Bryson Jatta, Hillgrove HS (GA)- 2028
The 6-foot-3 junior guard is an aggressive, scoring combo guard; he can create his own offense and is tough to keep out of the paint, consistently putting pressure on the defense. An above-average athlete, he finishes well at the rim and plays with confidence. During his sophomore season, Jatta averaged nearly 16 points per game and earned All-Region honors.

6-6 SG Myles Hayes, Woodward Academy (GA)- 2028
Hayes uses changes in speed and footwork more than pure burst to get where he wants. His shot selection is mature for his age, as he makes smart decisions about when to shoot versus attack the rim on the offensive end. He also doesn’t settle for early threes just because he can make them; he is consistently working to get a clean look off a screen or a hesitation move. On the defensive end, his length at 6-foot-6 lets him guard up a position when needed, and he shows flashes of being an active help defender who reads passing lanes rather than just reacting late. Overall, his feel for the game is ahead of where most players in his class are right now.
GBCA LIVE PERIOD: 2028 PLAYERS TO WATCH

6-3 SG Jaden McCullough, Pace Academy (GA)- 2028
McCullough is an athletic scoring wing who can create his own offense off the bounce, is a capable perimeter shot-maker, and consistently attacks the basket with purpose. He uses his strength and athleticism effectively to play through contact and finish around the rim. On the defensive end, he’s still developing the strength to hold up against bigger guards, but his length at 6-foot-3 gives him tools to work with on that end once his frame catches up. Overall, he is one of the state’s top prospects on the perimeter for his class.

6-4 SG Shamar Madden, Wheeler HS (GA)- 2028
The 6-foot-4 shooting guard is a sharpshooter who can impact the game with his smooth mid-range and perimeter game on the offensive end. He has become adaptable when it comes to scoring off the bounce from the secondary guard position. His perimeter game has gained some consistency over the course of the summer, when he was playing for Game Elite on the Adidas circuit. With a little more touch and confidence from the perimeter overall, Madden can amplify himself as one of the purest three-level scorers in the state for his class.

6-3 SG Jace Dunn, Pace Academy (GA)- 2029
The 6-foot-3 sophomore shooting guard has the qualities of a strong lead guard, where he takes charge of the offense while maintaining a balance between his own scoring and creating opportunities for others. His ability to lead and get his teammates involved makes his presence felt beyond just his scoring. On the defensive end, he brings effort and competitiveness to that side of the ball, showcasing that his impact doesn’t stop on the offensive end. His combination of leadership, scoring ability, and willingness to play make for teammates. Dunn has put together an all-around game where he has established himself as a 2029 guard to keep an eye on.

6-4 SG Culen Browne, Eagle’s Landing Christian Academy (GA)- 2028
Browne is one of the most skilled guards in the state’s 2028 class. Browne is a scoring, lefty guard who is coming off a strong summer playing for Georgia Stars on the Nike EYBL circuit. He has a good feel for the game, is a reliable shot maker, and a better-than-average athlete. Browne has some versatility as he can play with or without the ball in his hands. Overall, his length and defensive versatility give him a realistic path to early rotation minutes this upcoming season.

6-3 SG Case Presley, Dacula HS (GA)- 2028
Presley brings natural scoring awareness and does a great job taking advantage of defenders giving him enough space to get his shot off while also finding ways to get to his spots on the floor. His length is another valuable asset in his overall game, which allows him to make a play and finish over interior defenders. Overall, he can make an impact by creating off the bounce, knocking down jumpers, or attacking gaps in the defense; he consistently finds ways to impact the game as a scorer.

5-11 SG Korben Polk, Cherokee HS (GA)- 2028
The 5-foot-11 junior guard is really effective at creating opportunities for others, making smart reads, and keeping the offense fluid and organized. His ability to shoot the ball forces defenders to play a few feet off him, which opens up passing lanes and allows him to see the floor more effectively in the half-court. Overall, he can facilitate when needed, score when called upon, and make the right plays for those around him. As he continues to develop physically and add to his offensive skill set, Polk has all the tools to be a highly productive guard at the next level.

6-3 SG Amare Medhin, Redan HS (GA)- 2029
Medhin has the frame of a combo guard who can play on or off the ball, and his size shows up in how he operates in space. He’s become more comfortable when putting the ball on the floor and attacking downhill, using his length to finish over smaller defenders rather than relying purely on bursts of speed. Medhin is not yet a high-usage shot creator who’s going to dominate the ball every possession, but he shows flashes of reading pick-and-roll coverage and making the right reads to his teammates on the offensive end. He also competes on the defensive end with consistency, not just in spurts, which tends to translate well as he adds strength to his frame.
