Five-star small forward Malachi Jordan announced on Tuesday that he is committing to St. John’s University. The 6-foot-7 senior out of Prolific Prep in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, chose the Red Storm over Kansas, Tennessee, USC, Vanderbilt, among others. Before trimming his list down to three; Jordan was hearing from Alabama, Ohio State, UConn, Washington, and several others.
Jordan previously took official visits to USC, Kansas, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, and UConn all within the last month.
Jordan Ranked Inside The Top 25 Nationally
The 6-foot-7 small forward is the No. 24 overall-ranked player, the No. 7 small forward, and the No. 7 player in the state of Florida in the class of 2027, according to 247Sports.
Scouting Report on Malachi Jordan
Jordan can slide between the wing as well as playing the power forward position without forcing a coach to rebuild a lineup around him. Standing at 6-foot-7, Jordan has the size to play on the wing at the high major level without being a project physically, and he also brings size at that spot is what staffs look for first. Offensively, Jordan needs to be more consistent on his shot creation, whether off the bounce or in the pick-and-roll. With more work in the pick-and-roll offense where he can get to the dunker’s spot and be more creative off the catch could be really defining once he gets to the next level.
Jordan Put Up Efficient Numbers During EYBL Circuit
During the Grassroots season, Jordan played with Oakland Soldiers on the Nike EYBL circuit, where he averaged 18.6 points, 5.4 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game.
