With fall leagues getting underway, we are taking a deep dive into the players to watch for the upcoming season. We will be starting with our lowest classification (1A) and ending with the highest classification (6A). Here are eight (8) players to watch in Class 3A for the 2026-2027 season:

6-1 PG Cayden Daughtry, Calvary Christian Academy (Fort Lauderdale) (FL)- 2027
The 6-foot-1 senior point guard has a knack for changing speeds and directions, keeping defenders off balance and creating passing angles that most guards his size simply don’t see. On the defensive end, his quickness and active hands disrupt opposing ball handlers, making him a reliable perimeter defender who can apply pressure full-court or lock down in the half-court. He impacts the game in a variety of ways. Daughtry also brings reliable ball-handling and the ability to run an offense efficiently while also bringing stellar defense as well. He currently holds offers from schools such as Florida State, Iowa, Miami, Michigan, Arizona State, Penn State, Ohio State, and Ole Miss.
6-3 CG Josiah Brooks, Sports Leadership & Management (Miami) (FL)- 2029
The 6-foot-3 sophomore combo guard is coming off an impressive season where he played for Nightrydas EYBL on the Nike circuit. Brooks averaged 15.1 points per game while shooting 46% from the field and 39% from the three-point line. He has had numerous Power 4 schools recruiting him since he was in the eighth grade. During his freshman season at SLAM Miami, Brooks earned All-State honors in Class 3A and was also named to the All-Miami Dade First Team. Expect Brooks to make a major climb in the national rankings once again this season as his team have high expectations.
6-0 PG Neomar Flores, Tampa Catholic HS (FL)- 2027
Flores is a lead guard who consistently puts pressure on opposing defenses with his shiftiness and smooth handle on the offensive end. He is also an accurate passer who can find teammates on the move, setting them up to score. He has a knack for scoring on all three levels, both off the catch and off the bounce. On the defensive end, he adds toughness and an edge to his game, where he can be efficient when guarding the passing lanes or snatching down timely rebounds. Look for Flores to have a strong senior season where he can led Tampa Catholic back into making deep playoff runs.
6-1 PG Tristen Tucker, Windermere Prep HS (FL)- 2028
The 6-foot-1 junior point guard is a competent shot maker and lead guard on the offensive end. The rising junior has a great feel and understanding of the game, and he can attack the paint, finish around the rim, and make crisp passes to his teammates on the move. During his sophomore season at Windermere Prep, Tucker averaged a team-best five assists per game. On the defensive end, he adds physical strength and quickness, where he can guard on-the-ball with his footwork as well as being an above-average rebounder from the guard position.
6-7 SF Jomar Bernard, The Villages Charter HS (FL)- 2027
The 6-foot-7 senior wing has an impressive frame and impressive wingspan, and he can impact the game on both ends of the floor. On the offensive end, he moves exceptionally well without the ball, finding soft spots in the defense for easy buckets and demonstrating a promising ability to finish through contact around the rim. He also has the ball well enough to initiate offense in transition, smoothly transitioning from defense to offense by pestering the passing lanes, snatching timely rebounds, and making plays happen when applying pressure to opposing ball-handlers. His motor is consistently high, winning the 50/50 possessions and attacking the glass with purpose. Overall, the combination of size, length, and elite athleticism gives him a massive defensive ceiling; he can switch onto multiple positions and project as a versatile stopper.
6-10 PF Tyler Sabec, Calvary Christian HS (Clearwater) (FL)- 2028
The 6-foot-10 junior power forward has multiple skills that allow him to influence the game from multiple positions. His tempo is usually measured, and he has good patience in the half-court, but he also runs the floor hard in transition. On the offensive end, Sabec shoots it with confidence and good mechanics from beyond the arc, making him a legitimate pick-and-pop threat who can push opposing bigs and make them guard out on the perimeter. On the defensive end, he’s not just a shot-blocker but also a disruptor, able to recover when initially beat off the dribble. College coaches will be able to appreciate his ability to extend plays and generate offense efficiently.
6-5 SG/SF Gavin Gorman, North Broward Prep HS (FL)- 2028
The 6-foot-5 rising junior wing displays great positional size, where he can impact the game in a variety of ways on both ends of the floor. On the offensive end, he has an advanced skill set where he can finish around the rim while absorbing contact, finish in the mid-range off the bounce, and knock down catch-and-shoot threes from the perimeter. On the defensive end, he adds major length, where he can be a disruptor in the passing lanes, snatch timely rebounds, and win the 50/50 possessions. As his all-around game continues to blossom, Gorman could face some interest from college coaches as he heads into his junior season.
6-8 PF Ahmed Mustapha, NSU University School (Fort Lauderdale) (FL)- 2027
The 6-foot-8 senior power forward is coming off an impressive summer playing for the Florida Rebels on the Nike EYBL Circuit. Mustapha is an ultra-athletic forward who can play inside as well as outside on the offensive end, with his ability to punish defenders with his physicality around the rim and knock down shots from the mid-range off the catch. During his junior season, Mustapha averaged a near double-double at 12.3 points and 8.9 rebounds per game, and he helped lead the Sharks to their first Final Four appearance since 2019. He has also established himself on the recruitment trail, where he has picked up offers from schools such as Le Moyne, Jacksonville University, and Oral Roberts.
