With fall leagues across the Southeast region underway, college coaches are looking to find their next breakout player to fit their team’s needs for the future. We highlight eight (8) seniors who need to be recruited by college coaches over the fall.

6-6 SF Sebastian Madera, Miami Palmetto HS (FL)- 2027
The 6-foot-6 senior wing is a long and wiry prospect who can dominate on both the interior and the perimeter on the offensive end. He has great hands, catching anything in his direction, and is unafraid to showcase his handle on the outside. He also showcases a versatile role where he mixes in size, strength, and athleticism on the open court. On the defensive end, he can guard positions 1 through 5, showcasing elite footwork, being active on the glass, and pushing the tempo in transition. Overall, Madera is an intriguing prospect who can give you a double-double on any given night.
6-9 PF Eugene Hall, PK Yonge HS (FL)- 2027
Hall is a human skyscraper whose length and fluidity let him alter shots around the rim and contest perimeter shots on the defensive end. On the offensive end, he can score on all three levels, showing toughness when finishing around the rim, and he can also score in the mid-range at a high percentage. He also runs the floor effectively in transition, allowing him to create more consistent looks from the guard position against smaller guards, which opens up more passing angles from the wing. Overall, he can score in a variety of ways, whether it’s spotting up, finishing in traffic, or working off the ball for put-backs.
6-1 CG Jacob LaGrone, Sports Leadership & Management (Tampa) (FL)- 2027
The 6-foot-1 senior combo guard is coming off an impressive summer where he has taken over the lead guard role for his high school team. He does a great job when it comes to handling pressure from opposing guards, making timely reads, and knowing how to control the offense. He has a smooth jump shot and can knock down shots both off the catch and off the bounce. He is also a pure spot-up shooter, and he made 40 three-pointers for SLAM Tampa as a junior last season. Overall, his ability to create his own shot from the lead guard position and be the primary initiator speaks volumes, as he could be in line to have a big-time senior season.
5-11 PG Dominick Walsh, Northside Christian HS (FL)- 2027
The 5-foot-11 senior point guard is one of the more underrated guards in the state for his class. He is pure when it comes to having the basketball in his hands, where he is highlighted by his decision-making. Walsh is crafty in that he can put the defense off its rotation with his elite court vision and his ability to change speeds. Aside from his passing, Walsh can also score efficiently on all three levels. Coming off a strong junior season where he led the Mustangs to their first Final Four appearance in program history, Walsh averaged a team-high five assists per game.
6-2 CG James Nowells, Calvary Christian Academy (Fort Lauderdale) (FL)- 2027
The 6-foot-2 senior combo guard is coming off an impressive junior season where he averaged 18.3 points per game and knocked down a team-high 86 three-pointers. Aside from his scoring, Nowells mixes in toughness and athleticism, and he can play with speed when applying pressure on the defensive end. He has added muscle to his frame, where he can guard multiple positions, snatch timely rebounds, and show he is unafraid when it comes to guarding bigger players. During the Peach Jam last month, Nowells played a key role for the Florida Rebels, coming off the bench where he was the primary facilitator as well as known for his scoring on all three levels during their championship run. With Nowells now playing with his AAU teammate in Cayden Daughtry the Eagles could be a heavy favorite at a run for an Open Division title this upcoming season.
6-3 CG Fortune Hicks, Bradwell Institute (GA)- 2027
The 6-foot-3 senior combo guard is long and twitchy when it comes to handling the basketball from the lead guard position. Hicks dictates tempo effectively in transition, often pushing the ball himself to create early offense or settle into a half-court set with poise that goes well beyond his years. On the defensive end, his length creates problems for opposing guards and wings, which allows him to disrupt passing lanes and contest shots both inside and outside. Overall, his 6-foot-3 frame with significant length is a major asset, allowing him to finish over smaller defenders, rebound well for his position, and become a disruptive presence on the defensive end.
6-3 PG Tyson Sharper, Riverwood HS (GA)- 2027
The 6-foot-3 senior point guard operates with a high IQ and consistently gets his teammates involved on the offensive end. He also dictates his speed so he can finish at the front of the rim while being unafraid when it comes to finishing through contact. On the defensive end, he is versatile, as he can guard multiple positions, react in the passing lanes, and generate steals with his hustle.
6-1 PG Gabe Grimsley, Bartow HS (FL)- 2027
The 6-foot-1 senior point guard maintains a controlled tempo, rarely getting rushed even when opposing guards apply pressure on him. Grimsley displays a consistent pull-up jumper from mid-range and can extend his range beyond the three-point line. Grimsley does a great job when it comes to changing pace and direction to get to his spots on the offensive end. On the defensive end, he moves his feet well as well as anticipating passes, often turning defense into offense with steals or deflections. Overall, he has a great feel and understanding of the game, as his ability to make an impact on both ends of the floor could open the door for his recruitment.
