Four-star point guard Aaron Britt Jr. has announced he has committed to Texas Tech on Monday. He becomes the first commit for head coach Grant McCasland and the Red Raiders staff for the upcoming recruiting cycle.
The 6-foot-2 senior out of The Villages Charter High School chose the Red Raiders over California, Cincinnati, Dayton, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Saint Louis, South Florida, and several others. He took official visits to South Florida and Dayton earlier this month.
Britt Jr. played for Tre Mann Elite during the Grassroots season, where his ability to be a true floor general helped lead his team to the PRO16 League 17U Championship in July.
During his junior season at The Villages Charter, Britt led his team in scoring, where he averaged 14.4 points per game while shooting 41% from inside the three-point line and 30% from behind the three-point line, according to MaxPreps. He also averaged 2.0 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game last season for The Buffalo where they reached the 2026 Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) Class 3A Championship Game before coming up short of a state title against Calvary Christian Academy (Fort Lauderdale).
AARON BRITT JR. CITY OF PALMS HIGHLIGHTS:
Scouting Report on Aaron Britt Jr.: Britt is a true floor general, a point guard who prioritizes setting the table but can certainly get his own bucket when the situation calls for it. He operates primarily in a controlled, deliberate tempo, always surveying the floor for openings in the defense, though he’s quick to push in transition when an opportunity arises. His decision-making with the ball is advanced; he rarely forces plays and shows a keen understanding of when to attack the rim. On the defensive end, he’s a disruptive presence, leveraging his quick hands and feet to pressure opposing ball-handlers, often turning defense into offense with timely steals. He impacts the game on both ends, orchestrating the offense with precision and making it difficult for opponents to initiate their sets. Overall, Britt is projected as a multi-year starter and a primary playmaker, a true quarterback who can elevate his team’s offensive efficiency. While it’s early to project professional trajectory, if he continues to refine his scoring game and add strength, he certainly has the basketball IQ and court vision to be considered for a pro career.
