Battle at The Villages Reveal 8-Team Field

13th Annual holiday tournament will feature four Florida teams and four out-of-state teams

MIDDLETON, Fla.– The 13th Annual Battle at The Villages tournament was officially announced on Tuesday, per a press release:

The three-day event will run from December 28 through December 30 featuring four games at 1:00 p.m., 3:00 p.m., 5:00 p.m., and 7:00 p.m. each day. This year’s field consists of four teams hailing from the Sunshine State and four teams from Arizona, Kentucky, and Ohio.

Bartow won the 2025 Battle at The Villages Championship with a 72-70 over The Villages with a last-second basket by Matthew Williams.

“I am excited for this year’s Battle at The Villages, which features a balanced field of Florida and out-of-state teams, two Top 50 (nationally ranked) teams, multiple Division-1 prospects, and an exciting slate of 12 highly competitive basketball games. Welcoming back three past event champions, legendary coaches Carl Kremer and Jim Martin, and three tournament newcomers should create an exciting atmosphere. Our competition committee truly believes any one of the eight teams could be crowned Battle champions”, Tournament Director Marty Dzuro said in the release.

The tournament schedule will be released next month where advanced tickets will be available for sale at a later date. All 12 games will take place inside the 1,200-seat Villages High School Gymnasium.

Head Coach: Willie Powers, 3rd Season

Providence (Florida)

Head Coach: Jim Martin, 27th Season
