Antoine Caughman Jr., A 6-foot-6 small forward, is transferring from W.J Keenan High School in Columbia, South Carolina to Oak Hill Academy in Mouth of Wilson, Virginia. The news was first reported by Andrew Baxley of Prep Hoops South Carolina.
The 6-foot-6 rising junior small forward has made his name known on the national stage where he has picked up offers from California, Georgia Tech, Indiana, Ole Miss, South Carolina, among others. He also is picking up interest from Charlotte, Sacramento State, and UCLA.
Caughman Jr. is the No. 56 overall-ranked recruit in the Class of 2028, as well as the No. 16-ranked small forward and the No. 2-ranked player in South Carolina, according to 247Sports.
During his junior season, Caughman Jr. averaged 15.5 points, 5.2 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 1.8 steals, and 1.5 blocks per game for the Raiders. He shot 44% from the field, 29% from the three-point line, and 75% from the free-throw line last season.
During the Grassroots season, Caughman Jr. has been playing with Upward Stars on the Adidas 3SSB Circuit, where he is averaging 22.3 points per game while shooting 38% from behind the arc this spring.
Caughman talked with On3’s Jamie Shaw About His Recruitment Process
CALIFORNIA: “They’re a pretty good school. They’re in the ACC. I haven’t really looked too much into their basketball program yet, but I know they’re a good education-type of school.”
INDIANA: “They’re an Adidas team, I play on the Adidas Circuit, too, so I mess with Adidas a little. I haven’t watched them this year; they got a new coach and all, but they’ve produced players, and I know they can help me get to the next level and play in the NBA. I feel like they’re a good school.”
OLE MISS: “They got a great coach, with Coach (Beard), so I know they have a well-run program. I went on a visit there and looked around the school. It wasn’t for a game or anything, but they talked about how much access I would have to the gym, and how they would get me right. They want me to come in there and play.”
UCLA: “They’ve produced a lot of good players like Russell (Westbrook) and Kareem (Abdul-Jabbar) went there, too. They like how I play defensively and that I can guard every position on the court. They like that with my shot-making ability. They like that I’m a tough shot-maker.”
Oak Hill Academy finished the 2025-2026 season with a 19-10 record where they did not qualify for the Nike EYBL Scholastic tournament. They return 6-foot-8 sophomore forward David Johnson, who currently holds offers from Providence, Syracuse, Texas A&M, and Virginia Tech.
