Oneal Delancy, A four-star shooting guard out of Montverde Academy, took an official visit to the University of Maryland, he confirmed with Southeast Hoops Report. He took an unofficial visit with the Terrapins back in March.
The 6-foot-3 rising senior shooting guard currently holds offers from Cincinnati, Florida, Florida State, Houston, Maryland, Miami, Ohio State, Oregon, South Florida, and several others.
Delancy has taken official visits to Houston, Florida, and Florida State earlier this month. He also intends to take an official visit to the University of South Florida in August.
Delancy was a notable top performer at the NBPA Top 100 Camp earlier this month, where he scored on all three levels and consistently got good looks to score. He also played an alpha-dog type role on the defensive end, where he used his burst of speed and athleticism in the passing gaps and applied consistent pressure when guarding on the ball.
Delancy talked with On3’s Joe Tipton on his relationship with Maryland: “I talk with Coach (Ryan) a lot. Coach (Williams) texted me, and we had a long conversation about working and how that relates to trust. How much work you put in relates to how much trust you get on the court. So me and Buzz have a good relationship.”
During his junior season at Montverde Academy, the 6-foot-3 shooting guard averaged 13.9 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 1.4 assists per game in 30 games played for the Eagles.
During his sophomore season, Delancy averaged 17.5 points, 2.5 rebounds, 2.1 assists, and 1.7 steals per game for the Gladiators, where they reached the Class 4A Championship Game before their season ended with a state runner-up finish.
During his freshman season, Delancy averaged 15.4 points, 2.6 rebounds, 2.1 assists, and 2.1 steals per game where he led the Gladiators to their first state championship since 1969.
The Terrapins currently do not have any commits for the 2027 recruiting class but have received heavy interest from four-star point guards Tyrone Jamison and J’Lon Lyons.
During the 2025-2026 season, Maryland finished with a 12-21 record and 4-16 in the Big Ten Conference where they failed to make the NCAA Tournament.
