Oneal Delancy, A 6-foot-3 rising senior combo guard out of Montverde Academy, took an official visit to the University of Florida, according to 247Sports’ Travis Branham.
The four-star shooting guard out of St. Petersburg, Florida currently holds offers from Florida State, Maryland, Miami, Houston, and several others. He already took official visits to Houston and Florida State earlier this month. He is also scheduled to take official visits with Ohio State later this month and will take another visit to his hometown South Florida in August.
Delancy is coming off a stellar junior season playing with Montverde Academy, where he averaged 13.9 points, 3.9 rebounds, 1.4 assists, and 0.9 steals per game for the Eagles. The move to the national powerhouse came following his sophomore season where he spent the Grassroots season playing for the Florida Rebels on the Nike EYBL circuit.
During his sophomore season, Delancy averaged 17.5 points, 2.5 rebounds, 2.1 assists, and 1.7 steals per game for the Gladiators, where they reached the Class 4A Championship Game before their season ended with a state runner-up finish.
He was also recently at the NBPA Top 100 Camp in Rock Hill, South Carolina, earlier this month, where he was a notable standout over the course of the event. Delancy averaged 16.2 points and 3.7 rebounds per game while shooting 51% from the field and 45% from behind the arc during the event.
Branham on Delancy following the NBPA Top 100 Camp: Delancy continued to solidify his reputation as a high-level bucket-getter. Confident and aggressive, he attacked the defense from all three levels while also showing improved playmaking vision, dishing out four assists.
Delancy talked with On3’s Joe Tipton about the relationship with the University of Florida: “We have a great relationship. They come to watch me play, and it is always great to see them. They have been rocking with me for a little while now. I’ve been to three of their games this year, so they are very big in my recruitment. I talk with them a lot. It’s special to be a Florida kid, recruited by Florida. That means a lot. It’s crazy there. Everything is top of the line. I mean, you go in there, and you’re in The Swamp. You’re surrounded by blue and orange the second you step into town. They got a great environment and atmosphere there.”
