Top-60 recruit in the Class of 2027 asserted himself as a four-star prospect narrowed down his top schools on Saturday

Justin Wise, A 6-foot-4 rising senior combo guard out of North Oconee High School in Bogart, Georgia, trimmed down his school list down to six on Saturday. The 6-foot-4 combo guard will focus on Clemson, Georgia, Miami, Tennessee, Texas, and Vanderbilt. Before trimming his list, Wise was being recruited by Auburn, California, Cincinnati, Florida State, Villanova, and Virginia Tech.
Wise has been a standout on the Nike EYBL Circuit, where he plays for JET Academy, where he averaged 11.9 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 1.4 steals per game while shooting 44% from the field and 36% from behind the arc this season.
Among the finalists, Wise is expected to take an official visit to Texas (September 5) and is in the process of scheduling future official visits with his remaining contenders. He previously took unofficial visits to Clemson, Georgia, and Texas.
Last month, Wise was a notable standout where he competed at the NBPA Top 100 Camp in Rock Hill, South Carolina. On3’s Jamie Shaw on Wise: Wise moved seamlessly between the one and two in this setting. He shot the ball very well off the catch, and that might be his superpower at the next level. However, he advanced the ball well when pushing and moved it to open teammates in the half-court. A low-maintenance guy who raises the floor of his team.”
“He looked very comfortable in this setting as a go-to scorer. The 6-foot-4 guard showed he can play on ball as a primary initiator, but on Thursday at the NBPA Top 100 Camp he self-created advantages and finished plays at multiple levels. He had 18 points on 6-11 shooting in his first game.”
JUSTIN WISE SPOKE ON WITH ON3’S JOE TIPTON ON HIS FINAL SIX SCHOOLS:
CLEMSON: “They have a great program and a huge following for their sports, and Coach (Brownell) has a long history at Clemson and is a winner.”
GEORGIA: “They have a great program on the rise right now and have won a lot of games the past two years, and I have a great connection with the staff and community around Athens.”
MIAMI: “Miami is a great school and in a super cool area, and Coach (Lucas) is great with player development and preparing guys for the NBA.”
TENNESSEE: “Tennessee is a great program and has a great fan base who expects winning. Coach (Barnes) also has a history of sending players to the league and developing his players.”
TEXAS: “Texas has a great program all around, and a great school that values winning, and Coach (Miller) and the rest of the staff are great and have a great relationship with me and my family.”
VANDERBILT: “Vanderbilt had a great season last year falling short in the tournament but they have another great year ahead of them and are a great program on the rise to make a statement in the upcoming years.”
