With fall leagues well underway, we are inching closer to the start of the 2026-2027 high school basketball season. We are highlighting ten (10) players from the Sunshine State who are looking to make adjustments in their overall game.

6-4 SG Jacob Bromirski, Buchholz (Gainesville) HS (FL)- 2027
Bromirski is a highly skilled guard with a versatile skill set, length, size, and athleticism. He brings the ability to create his own shot off the catch, as well as the ability to bounce at a high rate. He also shows he has limitless range when it comes to shooting from the perimeter, as well as using his length to his advantage when attacking the rim off penetration. On defense, he has elite footwork and size, and he can cover the passing gaps on the perimeter and use his frame to alter shots at the rim. Overall, his versatility speaks volumes when playing on all three levels and could have a big senior season ahead of him.
5-11 CG Dylan Scheets, Creekside HS (FL)- 2027
The 5-foot-11 senior combo guard is dependable and highly skilled when he has the basketball in his hands. On offense, he makes the right plays happen with his change of pace and patience in the half-court, where he doesn’t get rattled when being blitzed by opposing guards. He is also unafraid when it comes to finishing at the rim on the point of attack, as well as displaying excellent court vision, where he can find teammates on the perimeter with his drive-and-kick ability. On defense, Scheets shows average foot speed, and he is able to stay in front of opposing guards and is an above-average rebounder for his size.
6-7 SF Trey Mitchell, A. Crawford Mosley HS (FL)- 2027
Standing at 6-foot-7, Mitchell possesses a combination skill set of size, length, and legit perimeter skills from the wing position. On the offensive end, he has become more confident in shooting from the perimeter off the catch and bounce. As a junior last season, Mitchell averaged 7.2 points and 8.5 rebounds per game while shooting just 33% from the field. On the defensive end, he can guard multiple positions using his length and frame, and he is unafraid to challenge shots at the rim or attack closeouts at the three-point line. Overall, his high basketball IQ allows him to be a factor in a multitude of ways, as he doesn’t force shots or make bad passes. College coaches could attract to him this season as he does a lot of factors that don’t show up in the box score.
6-8 PF Treyvon Fitzgerald, Armwood HS (FL)- 2028
The 6-foot-8 junior power forward continues to show his rare blend of size, strength, and athleticism while showing a great feel for the game. Fitzgerald can handle the basketball, play-make for his teammates, and knock down jump shots with confidence. His court vision is elite for his size, and he draws the defense off balance with his mix of scoring and facilitating on the offensive end. On the defensive end, he is a hard-nosed competitor who rebounds at a high level on both sides of the basket, gets deflections with his length, and generates steals in the passing lanes. Overall, Fitzgerald had a great summer playing for A1 Elite on the PUMA circuit, where his stock continues to raise upwards as he gears up for his junior season.
6-5 SF Bobby Yelton, Gulf Breeze HS (FL)- 2028
The 6-foot-5 junior wing can finish on the interior as well as play with a ton of confidence on the perimeter on offense. Yelton possesses good court vision and plays with a high IQ, making his teammates better every time he steps onto the floor. Aside from his passing, Yelton is a vital scorer who has good touch and strength to finish around the rim with either hand. On the defensive end, he is a strong rebounder who showcases athleticism and limits the opposition from getting second-chance scoring opportunities. During his junior season, Yelton was named to the Pensacola All-Area First Team.
6-5 SF Chaz Nunnally, Olympia HS (FL)- 2028
The 6-foot-5 junior wing has great positional size, and he can play positions 1 through 3 on the offensive end. He can finish around the rim, utilizing his athleticism to his advantage, and he often gets to the dunker’s spot off two feet. He can expand his scoring package as he has improved his mid-range game and is growing more confident in becoming a perimeter scoring threat as well. On the defensive end, his length and versatility allow him to guard multiple positions and snatch timely rebounds from the paint. Overall, his combination of size, shooting, and leadership traits projects well for mid-major programs looking for a versatile guard who can make an immediate impact.
6-6 SF Giuliani Blaise, Chaminade-Madonna HS (FL)- 2027
The 6-foot-6 senior wing is a multi-skilled big who can impact the game in a variety of ways, bringing a blend of size and athleticism. On the offensive end, he can finish in the paint while absorbing contact from multiple defenders, as well as showing a soft touch in the mid-range. On the defensive end, he works endlessly and with effort, where he snatches down timely rebounds and can block shots at the rim at a high rate. Overall, Blaise is a true two-way playmaker who shows a ton of promise and doesn’t shy away when it comes to guarding bigger players defensively or scoring on all three levels on the offensive end.
6-3 SG King McFadden, Tocoi Creek HS (FL)- 2028
The 6-foot-3 junior guard is a proven playmaker and is versatile, as he can guard positions 1 through 3 on the defensive end. On the offensive end, he has a strong, fluid game where he scores on all three levels, both as a primary ball-handler and by getting to his spots off-ball. He has an above-average skill set where he is a vital rebounder for his size and can push tempo when transition allows. Overall, his high IQ and comfortable playing multiple positions will speak volumes when his recruitment officially gets going. During his sophomore season, McFadden averaged 19.2 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per game while shooting 51% from the field and 33% from the three-point line.
5-9 PG Brandon Perkins, Gibbs (St. Petersburg) (HS) (FL)- 2027
The 5-foot-9 senior point guard is quick and shifty, and he is known to be a score-first type guard on the offensive end. Perkins shows he can play with poise and patience on the offensive end, where he doesn’t get rattled when opposing guards blitz him in the half-court. On the defensive end, he can stay in front of opposing guards using his speed and discipline to contest shots without fouling. While Perkins may be undersized, he gives 100% effort with his hustle and energy that feed off his teammates, whether it’s diving on the floor for loose balls or generating steals that lead to scores in transition. Expect Perkins to have a stellar senior season where he could be a steal for a college coach to pique interest in him.
6-1 CG Carter Vetor, Community School of Naples (FL)- 2028
The 6-foot-1 junior operates as a shooting guard, but his size allows him to play more in a point guard role on the offensive end. He brings a versatile role on both ends of the floor; unlike his brother Cole, he is more of a high-level rebounder and facilitator. Vetor also plays with contagious energy that feeds off his teammates while still growing into his frame. On the defensive end, he is a disruptor who can get after it in the passing lanes, where he generates deflections leading to steals for his teammates. His size also allows him to contest shots at the front of the rim. During his sophomore season, Vetor averaged 12.6 points, 3.9 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 1.3 steals per game while shooting 38% from the field.
