The three-star power forward returned to Florida helping lead Providence to the Class 2A Championship last season.

Nolan Nelson, A three-star rising senior power forward, announced on his social media that he has narrowed down his schools to five on Thursday. Moving forward, the 6-foot-8 power forward will focus on Florida, Furman, Harvard, Santa Clara, and South Florida.
Nelson’s recruitment has been wide open, where he has picked up nearly a half dozen offers over the course of the last week, where he picked up offers from Columbia, Florida Gulf Coast, George Mason, Little Rock, Jacksonville State, Richmond, and St. Bonaventure. Each school has viewed Nelson as a player who can make an immediate impact where he has received a good relationship with each of the coaches and staff members from the schools who have recruited him throughout the process.
Nelson is the No. 173 overall-ranked recruit, the No. 26-ranked power forward, and the No. 25 overall-ranked prospect in the Class of 2027, according to 247Sports.
Among the finalists, Nelson has not reported or scheduled any official visits. He has also not set an official commitment date.
Nelson spent the Grassroots season playing for Austin Rivers SE Elite, which is a part of the Adidas 3SSB Circuit where he averaged 19.3 points per game during Session 2 in Indiana back in May.

During his junior season at Providence, Nelson returned to the Sunshine State back in January after spending the first half of the season at SPIRE Academy in Ohio. Nelson averaged 13.5 points, 10.9 rebounds, 2.8 steals, 1.2 assists, and 1.2 blocks per game, helping the Stallions win the Class 2A state championship back in March.
During his sophomore season, Nelson attended Creekside High School just outside of Jacksonville, where he averaged 15.0 points, 11.4 rebounds, 3.3 assists, and 2.1 blocks per game in 25 games played for the Knights. He also recorded a team-best 15 double-doubles during the 25 games played, where the Knights finished with a 19-8 record and reached the regional semifinals before having their season come to an end against Seminole, who reached the Class 7A semifinals.
During his freshman season, Nelson averaged 13.6 points, 7.7 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 1.4 blocks per game while shooting 61% from the field and 41% from the three-point line in limited attempts.
