Another top-100 prospect will be on the move ahead of his upcoming senior season after playing the 2025-2026 season in the Lone Star State.
Lucai Anderson, A 6-foot-5 shooting guard, is transferring from Trinity Christian in Lubbock, Texas to IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida, for the upcoming season. The news was first reported by Eric Bossi of 247Sports.
Anderson is the younger brother of Christian Anderson Jr., who was selected by the Charlotte Hornets with the 18th overall pick in the 2026 National Basketball Association (NBA) Draft.
The 6-foot-5 senior shooting guard currently holds nearly half a dozen offers from schools such as Arizona State, Georgia Tech, UCF, and Villanova. Anderson recently took an official visit to Georgia Tech last month.
During his junior season at Lubbock Christian, Anderson led the team in scoring (21.3 points per game) as well as averaging 4.9 rebounds, 2.9 assists, and 1.4 steals per game while shooting 45% from inside the three-point line, 27% from behind the arc, and 76% from the free-throw line. He led the Lions to a 27-8 record, where their season came to an end against Brook Hill back on February 20.
Anderson will also be representing Germany during the FIBA U18 EuroBasket Championships, which will get underway later this month.
The Ascenders are going through an overhaul of changes this off-season, during which they named Jackson Johnson as their new head coach back in May. They have also added key pieces to the roster, headlined by five-star senior small forward Jordan Page, four-star small forward Joshua Leonard, and five-star shooting guard Will Brunson, among others.
During his four seasons as Head Coach at The Newman School, Johnson led a historic run of success, guiding the program to four consecutive New England Championship Tournament appearances and back-to-back NEPSAC AAA Championships in 2025 and 2026, including a National Prep Championship in 2026. Under his leadership, Newman set program records in each season, culminating in a 38-win campaign in 2026.
IMG Academy finished the 2025-2026 season with a 21-9 record where they failed to qualify for Chipotle Nationals and will once again compete in the Nike EYBL Scholastic this upcoming season.
