Top-100 recruit Frashad Tisby committed to the Gamecocks following an official visit last weekend

Frashad Tisby, the No. 99 overall-ranked recruit in the class of 2027, according to 247Sports, announced on Monday that he has committed to the University of South Carolina. The announcement came after Tisby took an official visit to Columbia last weekend. He chose the Gamecocks over Arizona State, Charlotte, Florida State, Harvard, Marquette, UAB, and Yale. Before trimming his list to seven schools, the four-star senior wing was being recruited by Clemson, Mississippi State, Jacksonville State, Kennesaw State, Rice, Stetson, Wofford, Xavier, among others.
The 6-foot-7 small forward out of Cross Creek High School in Augusta, Georgia becomes the first commit for Lamont Paris in the upcoming recruiting cycle. “As soon as I stepped back on campus, it felt like home again,” Tisby told 247Sports’ Brandon Jenkins. Their consistency, along with me stepping back on campus and it feeling like home, made it the best decision for me”, Tisby added.
Tisby participated in the Pangos All-American Camp in Las Vegas back in June where the Gamecocks started having a strong relationship with him.
During the Grassroots season, Tisby played with Jet Academy on the Nike EYBL Circuit, where he averaged 11.4 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game.
During his junior season at Cross Creek, Tisby played a key role in helping lead the Razorbacks to the Class 3A Championship, where he was a part of a controversial call late in the game.
Scouting Report on Frashad Tisby: Tisby is a versatile small forward who impacts the game across the board with his unique blend of length, athleticism, and skill. On the offensive end, he’s not someone who forces the issue; he operates within the flow, picking his spots. He can knock down shots from beyond the arc, showing a smooth release and good rotation, but he’s also capable when it comes to attacking closeouts. He sees the floor like a point forward at times, making accurate reads in transition and out of the high post, dishing dimes that open up easy looks for teammates. On the defensive end, frame and impressive wingspan allow him to guard multiple positions, disrupt passing lanes, and contest shots effectively, making him a true asset on both ends of the floor. He rarely takes plays off, maintaining a high motor that affects possessions even when he’s not directly involved in the action. Overall, Tisby projects as a high-major starter with the versatility to contribute immediately, likely as a valuable wing who brings more. His defensive potential is legitimate, capable of being a multi-positional stopper. Offensively, he can develop into a consistent scoring threat, especially as his body matures and his offensive repertoire expands. Tisby is a multi-positional guard who could carve out a long professional career due to his coveted blend of size, skill, and defensive instincts.
