Five-star senior small forward AJ Williams has narrowed down his school list to ten on Monday. Joe Tipton of On3 first reported the news. Moving forward, the 6-foot-7 small forward out of Eagle’s Landing Christian Academy in McDonough, Georgia, will consider Arkansas, Auburn, BYU, Duke, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Illinois, Kentucky, Mississippi State, and North Carolina.

Williams has taken official visits to Auburn, Georgia Tech, and Duke so far. He is currently scheduling future official visits with his remaining finalists. He is the No. 5 overall-ranked recruit, the No. 2 small forward, and the top overall-ranked player in the state of Georgia in the upcoming recruiting cycle, according to 247Sports. Williams doesn’t currently have a set date for his collegiate commitment announcement, but expect it to be once his official visits are complete.

During the 2026 FIBA World Cup, Williams played with Team USA and played a pivotal role, where he averaged 14.0 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 1.1 assists per game in seven games played in Istanbul, Turkey.

During the Grassroots season, Williams played with Team CP3 on the Nike EYBL Circuit, where he was among the top scorers on the circuit, despite being a year younger. Williams averaged 20.9 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 1.4 assists per game while playing with Team CP3.

During the 2025-2026 season at Eagle’s Landing Christian Academy, Williams averaged 31.8 points, 12.7 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 1.9 blocks, and 1.6 steals per game. He shot 51% from the field, 33% from behind the arc, and 86% from the free-throw line.

Williams was originally in the Class of 2028, but has decided to reclass and will graduate in the spring, where he joins Cooper Flagg (Duke, Dallas Mavericks), Marcus Spears (Texas), Bruce Branch III (BYU), Alijah Arenas (USC), and Obienna Ekezie Jr. (Louisville) as players who have reclassed within the last five years.

Scouting Report on AJ Williams: Williams can score from all three levels with remarkable efficiency. He has a smooth, high release on his jumper, making him a consistent threat from deep, especially off the catch or bounce. He has a great understanding of team defensive principles, rotates effectively, and uses his wingspan to disrupt passing lanes, leading to turnovers and transition opportunities. He has great court vision, and passing out of double teams or off drives are also significant strengths, showing he’s more than just a scorer. On the defensive end, he affects the game in a variety of ways. His length and quickness allow him to guard multiple positions, from smaller guards on the perimeter to stretching bigs in the post; his ability to contest shots without fouling is a definite asset.
