Rosser Put Up Efficient Numbers Before Coming to Southeastern Prep
Before coming over to Southeastern Prep, Rosser played in his home state of North Carolina at Northern Nash High School in Rocky Mount. During his sophomore season, Rosser averaged 18.8 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game for the Knights, who finished the 2024-2025 season with a 20-6 record and reached the 2nd round of the North Carolina High School Athletic Association (NCHSAA) state playoffs. During his freshman season, Rosser averaged 10.2 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 1.4 blocks per game for the Knights, who finished with a 21-8 record and reached the North Carolina High School Athletic Association (NCHSAA) 3rd Round of the state playoffs.
During the Grassroots season, Rosser played for this hometown program, Team United, on the Nike EYBL circuit, where he averaged 16.6 points, 7.6 rebounds, and 2.4 blocks per game.
During his junior season at Southeastern Prep, Rosser averaged 16.7 points and 6.7 rebounds per game in 40 games played. He earned All-First Team honors from the Sunshine Independent Athletic Association (SIAA) National Division and was named to the All-Southeast First Team by USA Today. During the Thanksgiving Hoopfest in Dallas last season, Rosser eclipsed the 1,000-point milestone, and he was later honored during the John Wall Holiday Invitational in his hometown of Raleigh.
Rosser Representing Team USA at the FIBA U16 World Cup
During the FIBA U16 World Cup in Mexico, Rosser played a key role representing the United States, where he averaged 13.7 points and 6.2 rebounds per game, helping his team earn the Gold Medal. Rosser recorded a double-double (16 points and 10 rebounds) in a 108-71 win over Canada in the Gold Medal game.
Scouting Report on CJ Rosser
Rosser has an impressive skill set that allows him to impact the game from multiple positions. He demonstrates good patience in the half-court, where his tempo doesn’t get rattled by opposing guards and bigs. On the offensive end, he can stretch the defense with his ability to score on all three levels, and he rarely forces action. On the defensive end, his length speaks volumes, as he can contest shots at the rim, disrupt passing lanes, and guard multiple positions effectively. In transition, he can run the floor exceptionally well for his size and drag opposing bigs away from the basket with the ability to handle the basketball in the mid-range and perimeter. Overall, Rosser is projected to play a pivotal role at the next level as his potential in the National Basketball Association (NBA) remains a strong possibility as well. His ability to score on all three levels and defend multiple positions make him a highly touted player in today’s modern game.
