The fall leagues are officially underway, and we are taking a deep dive into this year’s senior class. Here are five (5) prospects in the Sunshine State who are trending up in their recruitment.

6-7 SG Nate Winters, Westminster Academy HS (FL)- 2027
Winters is a natural combo guard, but his size views him more as a shooting guard. He consistently plays with a high IQ, and he rarely gets rattled by opposing guards when he has the basketball in his hands. On the offensive end, his decision-making is pure for his age, as he sees the floor exceptionally well given his stature in size. He can make an impact in a variety of ways, whether it’s his three-level scoring or facilitating as the secondary option. On the defensive end, his length and poise allow him to stay in front of opposing guards as well as showcase his athleticism to cover the passing gaps. He affects the game on both ends of the floor, as he is a true two-way playmaker who can make an immediate impact once he gets to the next level.
6-6 PG Quincy Douby Jr, Riviera Prep HS (FL)- 2027 (Wake Forest commit)
Douby Jr. is primarily a point guard, but his length and athleticism allow him to play multiple positions depending on the matchup. He defines his game as playing with a high motor, where he rarely forces action from defenders when being blitzed in the half-court. He has a smooth handle for his size, where he shows great body control when finishing at the point of attack while absorbing contact. On the defensive end, his length allows him to guard on all three levels, where he snatches timely rebounds, gets deflections leading to steals, and anticipates the passing lanes. His combination skill set of high energy on both ends of the floor feeds well off his teammates and is a proven winner.
6-5 PG Braxton Keathley, Prolific Prep (FL)- 2027- (University of Pacific commit)
The 6-foot-5 senior point guard operates as a primary ball-handler and will occasionally slide into playing off-the-ball where he comes off slips, scoring on all three levels on the offensive end. He plays with elite composure, and he doesn’t need a ton of time to get his shot off on the perimeter, as well as making smart reads to his teammates on the move. On the defensive end, he uses consistent pressure when guarding on-the-ball and uses his length to be disruptive in the passing lanes. Beyond his scoring, Keathley’s high IQ is impeccable, as he doesn’t need to be the primary focus for his team to have success. Overall, his three-level scoring, disciplined defense, and staying engaged on both ends of the floor has made Keathley a proven winner who will make an immediate impact at the next level.
6-1 SG Myles Fuentes, DME Academy (FL)- 2027
Fuentes is a natural shooting guard who displays an overall great feel and understanding of the game. He dictates the game with his scorer’s mentality, as well as getting his teammates involved at a high rate. On the offensive end, he makes the defense work with his handle, whether it’s his clean shooting stroke at all three scoring levels or his elite court vision. On the defensive end, he stays disciplined and engaged when generating in the passing lanes as well as applying pressure on opposing ball-handlers. He can generate steals by using his length to get deflections, and he is a key contributor in transition. Fuentes has added muscle to his frame; aside from his perimeter shooting ability, he is also unafraid when it comes to attacking the rim while absorbing contact. Overall, Fuentes is a solid and impactful player who can make winning plays happen on both ends of the floor.
7-1 Center Akol Nyok, Christopher Columbus HS (FL)- 2027
The 7-foot-1 senior center has emerged himself into being a proven winner, where he was a key piece on Columbus’ fifth consecutive state championship last season. He also spent this past Grassroots season playing for Tre Mann Elite, where he was a key piece in winning the PRO16 Championship last month in Bryan, Texas. On the offensive end, his game is still developing in building a consistent jump shot, but he does have great hands and footwork, and he can finish at the front of the rim. He has a great understanding of when to come off screens, and his decision-making is pure for his age. He is also an excellent rim-runner for his size, and he often gets out in transition for easy baskets or to create a numbers advantage. On the defensive end, his size and length allow him to be a focal point, where he continues to alter shots around the rim at an alarming rate. Overall, his high motor allows him to compete on both ends of the floor, snatch timely rebounds, and hustling to the 50/50 balls. Nyok has projected himself as a future Power 4 player where he has received offers from Georgia, Maryland, Michigan State, Tennessee, and Virginia Tech.
